- More than half (51%) workers say they have never or rarely discuss politics at work.
- 45% have regretted political discussion at work.
- 23% of people have decided not to register to the company’s work list because of the company’s political attitude.
- 25% have left or want to leave their jobs because of their boss’s political beliefs.
- 51% believe that the workplace’s political discussion hurts the work environment.
- 57% of women report to feel the negative impact of politics speaking at work compared to 44% of men.
- People who are younger than 45 are more likely and more comfortable talking about politics at work.

45% have regretted political discussion at work. Even for those who do not live with regret of past conversations, political talks at work can be uncertain. Fifty -one percent believe that discussing politics in the workplace has a negative impact on the work environment as a whole, and 24% thinks the upcoming US presidential election will make their workplace more uncomfortable.
“This finding shows that political discussions at work can have a negative impact on employee experience at their workplace,” said Maria Correa, a career expert at Resumehelp.
“In addition, when workers do not agree with the company’s political position or with their BOS political affiliation, it can have an impact on not only morals but also the company’s retention and ability to recruit and employ,” Correa concluded.
